Founded in Evanston, Illinois, USA by Ronald T Ferguson
1965
World´s first change-over reed switch released
1976
European manufacturing starts in Diss, UK
1985
Hamlin awarded Xerox paper path sensor business
1988
Hamlin crash sensors designed into Mercedes Benz airbag application
1993
Delphi appoints Hamlin as sole source supplier for new single point airbag sensor
2003
Hamlin adds Hall effect technologies to its portfolio
2005
Asian manufacturing begins
1957
Hamlin becomes one of the first companies in the world to manufacture reed switch technology
1968
Hamlin components fly aboard the first lunar mission
1984
Hamlin crash sensors featured in Mercedes-Benz seatbelt pretension
1986
Hamlin wins GM 10 digital dashboard push button contract
1992
Contracts signed with Siemens, Bosch, Temic, Autoliv and Visteon to supply airbag sensors
1996
Hamlin opens brand new facility in Diss, UK
2004
Hamlin inductive sensors designed in to Semi-trailer safety interlock
All Hamlin manufacturing facilities gain TS16949, ISO9001 Qualification
2007
Hamlin China organisation launched.
Recruited first employees and leased the Hamlin China facility.
