Sensing solutions from Hamlin perform reliably in the harsh and challenging environment of a vehicle engine compartment: from safety-critical applications to just making a driver’s life a little easier. Since first developed by Hamlin, in excess of 250 million vehicle safing sensors (used to trigger the deployment of airbags and seatbelt pretensioners) have been shipped with no recorded instance of failure or uncommanded deployment in an accident situation.
Applications in speed and direction sensing and emissions control are now in active development for the next generation of vehicle management systems.

Fluid Level Sensing
Hamlin sensing technologies are commonly used in engine compartment applications where they are used to monitor the level of vital fluids such as, brake fluid, coolant and screenwash. Hamlin level sensors are now being used to measure the level of urea as part of the SCR (selective catalytic reduction system), which plays a vital role in the reduction of NOx emissions.
Off-Highway and all Terrain Vehicles
In recent years Hamlin sensors have found a home in off the highway vehicle market. They are being used to fulfill a wide range of functions including speed sensing, operator seat occupancy detection, hydraulic lift position, pedal position, handbrake position sensing.
